What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. Using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, EMDR can reduce the emotional impact of difficult memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming in daily life. EMDR is more structured than typical talk therapy and does not require you to share details of your trauma. You will be completely in control of the pace of therapy. For some people, EMDR can lead to meaningful progress in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.

I have advanced training through EMDRIA and experience using EMDR with both complex and single-incident trauma. Treatment is always individualized, and we'll work together to determine whether EMDR is the right fit for your goals.
